Dear Starbucks,

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I can’t imagine why that happened…

However, assuming you don’t want to have to close some more stores, how about firing whomever decided that Pike Place tastes like.. coffee?

After that, it’s time to look around and see whose bright idea it was to serve said “coffee”, to the exclusion of all others, all day, every day. Americans, and people in general, are willing to accept a small number of options. Too many will confuse them - but too few just makes them mad. (There’s been actual research done on this - indeed, there are entire disciplines - though one can as easily go to McDonald’s and notice that the “The Hamburger” is not alone on the menu, sans Ph.D.)

For someone who wants coffee (or, at least, coffee-flavored “coffee” - and with actual caffeine in it), and doesn’t want to have to wait 5 minutes for their French-press to be mis-made, perhaps it’s a decent idea to have some decent coffee on hand, and already brewed, inside your coffeeshop?

PS: Instruct your CEO not to appear in public wearing spandex bicycling attire, lest people discover that he IS actually, were he not the CEO, that very guy who, otherwise, would be in line at Starbucks whilst wearing said spandex bicycling attire. No one likes that bike guy.

And, now, a word from George Carlin: “Fuck Lance Armstrong”.
